Our commitment to clinical research for RSV

Respiratory syncytial virus is usually mild, but in older adults and people with heart or lung conditions it is a common cause of hospital admission. Our studies focus on exactly those groups.

Our research

What are we studying?

Learn more about our areas of research and see whether one of our clinical trials might be right for you.

RSV in older adults

  • Almost everyone catches RSV in childhood, and most people catch it again periodically through life without serious consequence.
  • Immunity weakens with age, and in adults over 60 an infection can escalate to pneumonia or worsen existing heart failure.
  • Our studies test whether treating early changes the course of that illness.

RSV with chronic heart or lung disease

  • For people with COPD, asthma or heart failure, RSV frequently triggers a flare of the underlying condition rather than presenting as a simple virus.
  • That group is routinely excluded from respiratory studies, which is precisely why we are enrolling them.
