Our commitment to clinical research for breast cancer

Westbridge has developed medicines for life-threatening diseases for more than thirty years. Taking part in a clinical study is a personal decision, and a crucial one. We hope what follows is useful as you think it through.

Our research

What are we studying?

HR+/HER2− breast cancer

  • Breast cancer cells carry receptors that respond to hormones such as oestrogen and progesterone, or to proteins such as human epidermal growth factor.
  • Growth is driven by those hormones or proteins, so treatment is chosen by receptor type and may combine chemotherapy, hormone therapy, surgery or radiation.
  • Around 69% of all breast cancers are hormone receptor positive and HER2 negative.

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC)

  • TNBC is diagnosed when cancer cells test negative for oestrogen, progesterone and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2.
  • It accounts for roughly 15% of breast cancers.
  • It is an aggressive form and disproportionately affects Black women, which is why recruitment for these studies is designed with that in mind.
